The Walk

The Bear likes to take a walk most day's. He wears his sister's boots and his favourite witch's hat.

His first stop is Saffie the horse

Then maybe a little rest

Then the searching begins....

it can take a while to find the perfect rock

Finally.....

Off he goes, carrying it proudly aloft

To show his friends, the cows. He shouts them from the fence, "Cow! Look! Cow!"

Photobucket

Today they are too pre-occupied to say hello, he is a little dissapointed

So he throws the stone into the field, for them to see later

and hat in hand, home he goes

Photobucket

Collecting a little something for his sister on his way

I am merely a casual observer on these walks, carrier of discarded hats and occasional hand holder. He leads the way, chooses the route, and decides when it is time to leave. My little explorer, and friendly one, he does love those cows so.

  8. A beautifully illustrated story. It is wonderful that you have posted these stories...because your children will enjoy looking at them a year or so from now.

And we love them now. Makes me miss my own babes.

  10. Oh my goodness, this gave me chills -- so sweet and soooo familiar. Your little guy reminds me of my Jackson (now 18), when he was wee; also Frida (so much closer in age to your honey), who dons witch hats (and viking hats and super hero capes) on a regular basis. You have really caught something beautiful here -- thank you!!

  17. Oh how I love this sweet post. You could print it out and make a mini book for him, he will love it when he's older. My two are 14 and ten and still love stories about what they got up to when they were younger.

  18. Loved your photos and story lines - you could make children's books out of this - not just your children, but many others would love following their adventures with the cows, horses, etc.
